Sri Lanka anti-war film banned
The authorities in sri lanka have cancelled the screening of an award winning anti-war film under emergency regulations introduced earlier this year following an escalation of fighting in the country's long-running civil war. The sinhalese- language film 'death on a full moon' , which has already shortly in sri lanka . a government minister (Sarath Amunugama) said the ban was temporary and would apply only as long as the country remained on a war footing. (Human rights groups have criticized the government for introducing what they regard as draconian censorship measures.)
