ANANTHA RATHRIYA is a violent film where the violence is articulated, expressed, more through its absence and silence than its vocal presence. Suwisal's violence is inflicted as much on him self, aa it is on all those who related to him in his present. His obsession to absolve himself of a guilt sucks him into a time - wap he cannot come out of. His past (Concretised through Piyum) haunts him, chases him, pulls him, holds him, commands him accuse him, humiliates him and then discards him. He finds himself trapped in his guilty past that imprisons him within his guiltier, yet, remorseful present, and denies him the liberation he seeks in his corrupted decadent future. Razor - sharp editing, a meditative pace, mood lit cinematography, pregnant silence and eloquent sound effects make Prasanna's second feature film a total cinematic experience.
